Guangzhou Evergrande star midfielder Paulinho hit the pitch Sunday at Tianhe Sports Center in his 100th Chinese Super League match, scoring two goals in Evergrande’s 5-0 thrashing of Tianjin Quanjian.
Paulinho returned to Guangzhou Evergrande in July, after a season spent with Barca and a trip to Russia with the Brazil squad for the 2018 World Cup.
During Sunday’s match, Paulinho gave his club their first goal of the game after 15 minutes. The 30-year-old Brazilian added a third goal for Evergrande in the 57th minute, after the score was doubled by Ricardo Goulart.
Anderson Talisca then added two goals of his own in the last 16 minutes of the match. The 5-0 win saw Guangzhou move within three points of Beijing Guoan, the league leaders.
Unfortunately for Quanjian, this was their fifth league match in a row without a win and the team now sits at 12th place in the league standings.
