The blast took place yesterday afternoon, at 4.50pm, the time that parents would have arrived to collect their children. Graphic images and videos of the scene circulating online depict people lying on the floor covered in blood, and parents clinging to their children.

Although the kindergarten students themselves were yet to be released from class at the time of the incident, parents and grandparents had toddlers with them. It is unclear how many children are among those injured.
