A group of good Samaritans in Huizhou, Guangdong province, have received international news coverage after they righted a flipped two-ton delivery van to free its trapped driver.
The accident occurred on May 17, when the deliveryman’s vehicle was hit by an SUV while passing through an intersection. The driver, surnamed Huang, became trapped inside the cab of his toppled van.
In an effort to free Huang, the other driver attempted to kick in the delivery van’s windshield, but it was to no avail. That is when a group of 20-plus bystanders, which included a number of elderly people, answered the call of duty – pushing the car back onto four wheels in “just one minute,” according to a report by Shanghai Daily.
Huang, who walked away from the debacle unharmed, reportedly stated that he is “greatly touched” and that “society is full of kind people.”
