During the summer break, Shanghai French School initiated a campus bus change project, upgrading its fleet for improved safety, comfort, and sustainability. This effort ensures a better transportation experience for students in the upcoming school year.

Shanghai French School is an international nonprofit institution that welcomes more than 1,400 students of multiple nationalities, from pre-kindergarten to the French Baccalaureate (ages 2 to 18), on its Qingpu and Yangpu campuses.

The school welcomes all foreign nationalities, not just French nationals. Students at the French School come from over 45 different countries, making it a genuinely international school.

To be admitted to the school, at least one parent must be a foreign national. Shanghai French School also accepts Chinese students with foreign birth certificates, as well as residents of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.

Shanghai French School offers the French National program with unique streams (General Stream, European Stream, International American, and International Chinese Streams), as well as a program dedicated to non-French speaking students.

Now at 30%, more and more non-French speaking families are joining the Shanghai French School.

German School Shanghai Brand-New Swimming Pool

DSSY-Swimming-Pool.jpg

The children at the German School Shanghai Yangpu (DSSY) are starting their new school year with the brand-new swimming pool!

The well-developed sports facilities, like the seven-meter-high climbing wall, the liftable indoor basketball court, and indoor and outdoor sports hall, now have an added attraction: the new natatorium is approximately 1,600 square meters in size and includes two swimming pools, one competition pool and one learning pool.

In the 25-meter-long swimming pool, with a water depth of up to 3.8 meters, children can learn, practice and improve their swimming techniques. Deep-diving training with an oxygen tank is also possible in this depth of water.

Advanced filtration technology with a large-scale ceramic system effectively reduces the number of chemical disinfectants, resulting in clearer and more hygienic pool water and greater savings in water and electricity consumption.

The natatorium is also equipped with a large LED display, timing system, departure table and touch panels, which have been widely used in international swimming competitions around the world.

The special touch pads measure times down to the second, and several projectors and screens installed in the hall enable the results to be broadcast almost live.

To ensure that even the youngest ones learn to swim safely, the 10-meter-long and 15-meter-wide learning pool has three swimming courses; with a water depth from 0.16 meters to 0.8 meters, the pleasant water temperature enables even the very little ones to learn to swim.
