Shanghai's Cake House Getting Demolished

You know that eight-story 'Strawberry Cake House' we wrote about yesterday?

Well, turns out, it's just not cutting it, at least with the historical overseers.

Unfortuantely for the Bund bakers, despite the fact that the building it was placed upon is not historic, it's still in position of the Bund Historic District and due to it's unslightly pink coloring, it must be demolished.

The cake-down will be completed tonight so if you're needing to get a slice of your Cake by the Ocean, best swing by for some this afternoon.

Supposedly, the decorations were put in place to celebrate the anniversary of the company that owns the building.

Just goes to show, the rumors are in fact true: you can't have your cake and eat it too.
