Beijing begins FREE cockroach extermination service

So apparently Beijing has a mild roach problem, who knew? Fortunately, the local government have stepped in and begun offering an entirely free, seemingly random, cockroach extermination service. And who said socialism was dead?

There's no word as to what prompted the move, though we imagine it's in preparation for APEC (November 7 to 12). Still, good luck wiping out the lovable lil' scamps. Apparently 35 percent of homes, restaurants and shops in the capital are infested with the famously apocalyptic-resistant creatures, Liu Zejun, an official from the city's health committee, said.

According to the government, almost 1 million households throughout the city have registered for the free cockroach removal service, although scant details exist as to how to actually register for the free service online.
