Amidst the new regulations issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China prohibiting power banks without a valid CCC (or ‘3C’) certification label on domestic flights, Beijing airports are offering services to save you from having to toss chargers that don’t meet the requirements.

Passengers departing from either Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) or Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) can have their power banks stored for free and retrieve them upon returning to Beijing.

However, the service only allows you to store your power bank for up to seven days, after which it will be discarded.

For those taking longer trips, both airports have JD Express outlets located outside the domestic departures security checkpoints so that you can mail your potentially dangerous electrical items to your home.

At least airports are taking steps to avoid having a bin full of power banks next to the box of lighters outside of the security check points!
