Taking over what once used to be Frost, That One Place (not to be confused with The Other Place) is keeping it casual with cheap drinks and pleather seating. There’s not much to note about the ambience, but we will say this – the drinks are stiff. The Hutong (RMB49) is a lethal combination of baijiu, apple and cinnamon liqueurs, finished off with grenadine and a maraschino cherry drenched in alcohol. The harsh reality that our university days are long behind us is clear from first sip, and we’re not sure if it’s our low tolerance levels or the fact that it’s a Wednesday night that makes it a struggle to finish the glass. It’s nothing memorable, but That One Place sure makes for a strong end to a booze cruise around Xingfucun.
