The Hutong's 4th Annual Cookie Monster Charity Bake-Off is right around the corner. Once again, The Hutong and LumDimSum.com will be hosting the event, and they’re currently looking for Beijing’s best bakers to participate.

Not only is the Cookie Monster Charity Bake-Off one of the most delicious events of the season, but it’s for a great cause. If you think you’ve got what it takes to participate, email your best cookie recipe (as well as a photo) to kristen@lumdimsum.com. The deadline for submissions is Monday February 13.

Space is limited, so The Hutong will be carefully selecting 15 of the most intriguing recipes. Those lucky Beijing bakers will have the chance to showcase their best (and most diverse) cookie creations at the Cookie Monster Bake-Off, which will be held at The Hutong on Sunday March 19.

Cookie contestants will be required to bake enough cookies so that their recipe can be sampled by about 50 people. The bakers can also sell their own cookies for RMB20 per bag of five cookies. For each bag sold, RMB5 will be donated to a select charity.

If you’re more into eating cookies than baking them, you’re more than welcome to join in on the festivities on Sunday March 19. For RMB150 (or RMB100 for members of The Hutong), guests can sample each and every cookie recipe, plus you’ll get a cup of milk to wash them down with.

The Hutong will also be providing tons of hot drinks to keep you warm – warm milk, hot chocolate and hot toddies.

In the charitable spirit of the event, all proceeds made from raffle tickets and a portion of entrance tickets will also be donated to a local charity.

Sun Mar 19, 2-5pm; RMB100 (for Hutong members)/RMB150 (door). The Hutong, see event listing.
