Green Essence’s treadmills overlooking Taikoo Li must surely have the finest views of any exercise equipment in Beijing. The gym and 25-meter swimming pool are also some of the most futuristic, swagged-out facilities we’ve seen in the city (or anywhere, for that matter). Stationed in the new Sanlitun InterContinental, Green Essence operates independently from the hotel. This means that membership is open to the public (and is available from RMB21,600 a year).
