There is so much going on during this year's Mid-Autumn Festival we decided to put together a special guide highlighting all the awesome events that are going on in Beijing this week. Enjoy the holiday.

Sept 14: Concrete & Grass Presents: A$AP Ferg + Little Simz

A$AP Ferg is a busy man. He’s spent the week discussing the next collection of his Trap Lord clothing line in LA and recording with producer C-Note in Atlanta for his third album, but he’s managed to find time to chat after spending a relaxing day “riding all the rides” at Six Flags. He’ll be making his Mainland debut at the Split Works-curated Concrete and Grass Festival on September 16 (with a late night Sep 14 stop at Beijing's Yugong Yishan that kicks off at 11.30pm added at the last minute), and the music festival veteran in the making admits the experiences are spoiling him.

Sep 14, 11.30pm-late, RMBTBA. Yugong Yishan, see event listing.

Sept 15: Disco Extravaganza: Dance To Fight AIDS

201609/disco.jpg

The Disco Extravaganza is heading back to the Migas Rooftop on Thursday. The goal is to raise money for the China AIDS Walk. So get ready to paint the town red and party for a good cause. There will be a bunch of performances and DJs on the scene to set the disco mood. And there is a dress code: red.

Thurs Sept 15, 10pm. RMB70. Migas, see event listing

Sept 15-16: Budweiser STORM Festival

Since starting out three years ago in Shanghai, the Budweiser STORM Festival has been busy establishing itself as the Mainland’s version of EDM megafestivals like Tomorrowland and Ultra. Last year they sold out the 40,000 Shanghai venue both nights while venturing out of its home for the first time into Shenzhen. Now expanded to six cities, it will be making its Beijing debut at Beijing Topwin Golf and Country Club on September 15-16.

Sep 15-16, 1-11pm, RMB380 (per day), RMB680 (two-day pass), RMB680-1,180 (VIP pass). Beijing Topwin Golf and Country Club. For more information, click here

Sept 15-18: dART TekNest Electronic Music Festival

The dART TekNest Electronic Music Festival is happening at Bird’s Nest Stadium from September 15-18. With the help of 10Festival, Beijing is now the site of a new outdoor creative electronic music festival. This gathering is all about creating an environment where art, music and technology can come together. During the three-day fest, you can expect tons of great electronic music, multimedia art and creative performances. There are some pretty big international acts invading Beijing from countries around the world, including Dubfire, Kenny Glasgow (Art Department), Nobody Home (aka Minilogue), Jacques, Nikita Zabelin, SHADED and so many more. Local artists include Ben Huang, Mickey Zhang and Weng Weng, to name a few. Visual artists Clockwork Q, Hanabitheo, Noizome and Qian Honglin will also be on the scene.

Sept 15-18. Presale: RMB120 (1-day pass), RMB300 (3-day pass), RMB58-108 (Sept 16 Birthday Invitation Ticket), Door: RMB150 (1-day pass). Purchase your presale tickets here.

Sept 15-17: 3 Days of Two for One @ Arrow Factory

In celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Arrow Factory is hosting three whole days of, you guessed it, buy-one-get-one-free beers at both of its locations. What better way to enjoy the holiday than to sip on a nice cold beer? Click here to find out which beers will be on special.

Sept 15-18: The YinYang Music Festival

The YinYang Music Festival is back for its third instalment. And from the sound of it it’s bound to be a good time. The four-day fest is happening this week (from September 15-18), just in time for the holiday and will take place on the authentic Huang Ya Guan section of the Great Wall. For this year's festival, artists from around China and around the world are making their way to Beijing to perform. Headliners include HVOB (Austria), Peer Kusiv (Germany), Citizen Kain (France), Sulumi (China), Fre4knc (The Netherlands), Lydmor (Denmark), Denmark and Dither (The Netherlands). And there will be tons of other artists there too.

Sep 15-18: The Merchant of Venice

Technically considered a comedy, The Merchant of Venice is one of Shakespeare's most polarizing works. London’s theater world was taken by storm when the adaptation showed last year at Shakespeare’s Globe, the reconstructed theater located a few hundred yards from the original Globe Theater on the River Thames’south bank. The show is now in the midst of world tour that stops off at National Center for the Performance Arts from September 15-18. It will be the third time the acclaimed production company has performed on the Mainland after past tours of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Hamlet

Sep 15-18, 7.30pm (with 2.30pm show on Sat), RMB180-680. National Center for the Performance Arts, see event listing.

Sept 15-27: Oktoberfest at Hacker-Pschorr

The season of Bavarian beer-drinking is upon us. Hacker-Pschorr, Sanlitun’s very own authentic German brauhaus, is celebrating with Oktoberfest. Join them for live music, specially brewed Oktoberfest beers and traditional Munich dishes. Throw on your dirndls and lederhosen, come hungry, and prepare to say “Prost!”

6pm-midnight; Thu Sep 15-Tue Sep 27 (except Sep 19 and Sep 25); RMB58 for tickets including one pint, RMB228 for tickets including free-flow beer and soft drinks; Hacker-Pschorr.

Sept 16: ‘80s and ‘90s Nostalgia Night @ 4corners

201609/80s-90s-Nostalgia-Night.jpg

That’s Beijing is partnering up with 4corners to take you back in time with an ‘80s and ‘90s nostalgia night. All of your favorite ‘80s and ‘90s TV shows will play all night long, and the best part is we can all sing along with our favorite TV songs together. Singer Ed Oliden will be hosting the event. Ed might have been taught by Broadway-caliber performers and opera singers. He might also have a pretty damn impressive resume of his own. But what we love about Ed is that when it comes to music he’s down to fully geek out. Perhaps you were there when Ed performed at 4Corners’ Broadway/Disney Nights? Trust us, he's the perfect person to host this one-of-a-kind throwback event. Expect to hear tunes from old school favorites like CheersFresh Prince of Bel-AirRoseanneIn Living Color, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... You get the idea. So come geek out with us this Friday September 16 at 10pm at 4corners.

Tickets:

A special RMB20 presale price is available for That's Beijing readers only (original price RMB30). To purchase your tickets follow us on WeChat by scanning the QR code below, click the ‘Events’ tab and select ‘Nostalgia Night.’
