Sept 2: Derrick May @ Dada

Derrick May (aka Mayday and Rhythim is Rhythim) laid the groundwork for modern electronic dance music – he’s pretty much a legend. So lucky for us Beijingers, the Antidote x Say Yes are bringing the Detroit-born DJ to Dada on Friday night for some serious techno.

Sept 2-3: The Migas Terrace 6th Anniversary Weekend

We can’t believe it’s been six whole years since Migas unveiled its now-famous terrace. Well, leave it to the folks at Migas to celebrate – big time. On Friday DJ Nu-Mark, of the legendary hip-hop group Jurassic 5 will be taking the stage and on Saturday Migas’ resident DJs and friends will be bringing the beats.

Sept 3: Napa Rooftop Patio Pizza Party

NAPA's is unveiling their brand new patio and rooftop garden. And they're throwing a pizza party to celebrate. You can expect lots of wood-fired pizzas and four taps of draught beer. And to commemorate the occasion they are giving guests margherita pizza and two Jing-A beers for just RMB100. Not bad.

Sept 3-4: MTA Festival 2016

Festivals in Beijing may still be proving difficult to organize. But thankfully Hebei is on hand to help out. Over 50 local and international acts descend on our neighboring province this month, including big names like Rudimental (pictured above) and British 'rapper' Example. It’s only about 90km from the city, so quit complaining.

Sept 3-4: Graceland Electronic Music Festival

The Graceland Electronic Music Festival is going to be epic. Just saying. Not only is there going to be 28 hours of non-stop music, but the location is pretty amazing. The Graceland will be held from September 3-4 at Datan Paradise Bird Music Park, which is located smack in the middle of the Fengning grassland (about four hours from Beijing). 

There will be 50 artists performing during the two-day festival, including DJs, live performers and multimedia artists from around the world. And the music lineup is killer. Cesare Vs Disorder, Youdai, Oshi, WengWeng, Ouyang, special guest Sainkho Namtchylak and 44 other artists will be performing one after the other.

There will be four electronic music stages: The main stage will be dedicated to techno music, a smaller stage will be all about psytrance music and nature, a third one will be dedicated to folk and instrumental music and a fourth stage will feature chill-out music, from reggae to deep house.

Aside from music, there are tons of awesome activities planned, including a fire artist, tattoo artist exhibition and a bunch of art installations.
