July 26: Tiananmen and the Making of Modern Beijing
The Hutong's educational walk will take guests on a journey through, "Beijing's history as an imperial capital and how the abdication of the last dynasty in 1912 and the founding of the PRC in 1949 fundamentally transformed this city." The walk will guide guests through the Beijing Urban Planning Hall, Tiananmen Square, the Altar of Agriculture (Zhongshan Park) and the Ancestral Temple (Worker's Cultural Palace). July 27-30: Woodstock of Eating Jungle Nights
We’re big fans of Woodstock of Eating. So we’re thrilled that it's back with four whole days of food, fun and music. They’ll be taking over 1,600 square meters of downtown Beijing that will be packed with street food stalls, pop-up stores, game booths and music stages. It's gonna be a good time.

July 28: Quiz Night @ North Capital
Who doesn't love a good ol' boozy quiz night? Head over to North Capital on Thursday, show off your knowledge and get free booze. Each team gets a free bottle of beer. And winners will get a free bottle of booze. Isn't that incentive enough?

July 30: Straight Outta Palms
Last month we threw a ‘Summer Sundowner’ party for readers at Arrow Factory Brewing. The turnout was huge, the feedback was great and we had a killer time hanging out with you all on the rooftop, beer in hand, as the sun set over Beijing. We love good times at That’s Beijing, so we’ve organised another party for our dear readers – a ‘gangsta’ fancy dress themed one, naturally.
This Saturday July 30 we’re teaming up with Palms L.A. Kitchen and Bar to bring you ‘Straight Outta Palms’. Starting at 3pm at their Liangmaqiao location, you’ll be able to enjoy RMB35 Margarita cocktails, RMB25 Vedett beers and RMB10/15 tacos. DJ Cad73 will be spinning classic hip-hop out on the terrace; there’ll be party games like piñata, bingo and flip cup; plenty of lucky draws to be won and prizes for the best-dressed gangstas.

July 30: Bao House Saturday Sessions #2
Bao House in Taikooli North is gearing up to bring you a day full of good music, fine craft beer and delicous food. It's going to be RMB30 for all Jing-A draft beer and RMB50 for Jing-A beer and pulled pork bao.
