Aerosmith: In their own words

“We haven’t been avoiding China deliberately. Before, we were still considering some problems such as production costs. Now we can’t wait.

We decided that, while the band is still together and we have this chance to come to China to perform, we have to do it.

China is a great country with lots of history and culture. We’re delighted and surprised to find that we have many fans in China, although we have never performed there before.

When Metallica came out, we had been together for about 10 years. We’re very glad to hear that they will also be coming to China. We hope we can go to their concert, we’re sure it will be amazing.

Music has the ability to enhance your life. Whatever you’re doing, music can affect your life. But one thing is always the same: when a band performs for an audience, that excited atmosphere is always the same.

When our manager told us that we had the opportunity to come to China, to perform a solo concert, all of us were very excited. We didn’t hesitate to accept the invitation, because we really have been waiting for this chance for a long time.

Music festivals are like a great party for the fans and bands. But this time, it’s our first time to meet the Chinese audience, so we wanted to give them a great show and needed enough time to ensure that we could rock all the people in the audience.

You know, we don’t know any specific Chinese rock music, but we’re very interested in it. Our concert will be a good opportunity to get to know how rock music has developed in China.

We want to meet some Chinese rock bands during this tour. We also look forward to hearing Chinese rock.”
