The NBA just announced that it will return to China for the tenth edition of the Global Games China, which will feature two preseason games in Shanghai and Beijing between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Houston Rockets. The two teams will first play each other on October 9 in Shanghai at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, then in Beijing three days later at the LeSports Center.
This will be the Rockets’ first visit to China since 2004, when they sold out a Shanghai stadium due to the city’s prodigal son himself, Yao Ming, being part of the squad at the time.
The NBA will also be hosting several special events for fans of the teams in both cities, such as an opportunity to watch them train and other interactive activities.
This all comes amid rumors that Kobe Bryant himself might be coming to China in the near future...
