Two of the daring window washers of Shanghai's World Financial Center - currently the seventh-tallest building in the world at 492 meters high - were given a terrifying 15-minute ride yesterday morning when the suspended platform they were working on began swaying wildly in the wind, bashing into the building's glass facade repeatedly.
Their cradle was suspended between the 91st and 92nd floors when it slammed into a curtain wall, sending glass flying inside the building. Other than some bruises and a sprained wrist, the two workers were unharmed and the cause of the incident is presently unknown.
