WARM JUICE CLEANSE FOR COLD MONTHS

Take a break from partying and purge your body of toxins. While it is easier to detox in warmer months, VCleanse has recently released a ‘warm’ option that combines both soups and juices in a pack. We tested it out and found it not only easy to do, but also pretty tasty – we got to start our morning with a hot pear and ginger infusion. Yum!

If you’re a first-time juicer, don’t fret, it might take a little more will power than you’re used to, but it can be done. You can also customize your cleanse to include a meal during the day. If you just can’t function without a snack or two, select nibbles – and even a cup of coffee – are given the okay in their handbook.

CLEAR IT OUT

Another cleanse we recommend is American nutritionist Jessica Simkin’s Body Awakening, which is a great starter kit for those who just aren’t sure how to begin or what it’s all about. This detox kit consists of 9 elements like spirulina tablets, herbal tea and flax seeds as part of the program designed to promote weight loss, increase energy, reduce digestive maladies and improve skin. 3-5-day and intermittent day cleansing programs are offered and in the past, they’ve worked with groups like Body Concepts to do fitness/detox workshops. There will be two group talks about cleansing and detox scheduled the last weekend of March. Location, dates and time are still being finalized.

To find out about upcoming programs or more on Body Awakening visit or email info@bodyawakening.net or visit www.bodyawakening.net.

Body Awakening is running a 10% discount compaign throughout March – why not start today?

SWEAT IT WITH BIKRAM

If you’re just not keen on the cleanse, but really want to rid your bod of bad stuff, try a bikram yoga class. Bikram Yoga offers 90-minute classes that will have you feeling the heat. Said to burn at least 600 calories per class, when you finish you’ll look as if you just took a shower with your clothes on, but you’ll feel refreshed, invigorated and a whole lot healthier. You might want to bring your own towel and mat, but you can rent those for RMB10 each. Showers are also on site.

RMB180/drop-in, packages vary. 3/F, 81 Jiangning Lu, by Fengxian Lu 江宁路81号3楼, 近奉贤路 (3256 0929, www.bikramyogashanghai.com)

The class will be held from 10am-12pm at Bikram Yoga Shanghai. RMB150/class and breakfast. To RSVP visit yoopay.cn/event/sproutmarchevents.
