Ashtanga yoga was founded by K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. The yoga guru opened his Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore in 1948. This form of yoga has gained popularity around the world, and on Thursday September 19 it's making the journey right here to Shanghai!
The workshop will be led by David Miliotis. David started practicing Ashtanga yoga with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in 1989. In 2009, he became the first group of practioneers to receive Ashtanga Yoga Class II certification at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore. David now travels around the world to teach his craft.
Astanga is a very classic Vinyasa exercise with a smooth rhythm and a fixed posture system. This class applies continuous movements with bandhas and breathing. It also aims to enhance the strength and softness of practitioners and rejuvenate the body and mind.
