A Swedish man died Monday after falling six storeys from the elevated highway leading to Terminal 2 of Pudong International Airport, police said

The man, who has not been identified, was taking a taxi to the airport when he "inexplicably" jumped out of the vehicle as it slowed down on the highway, falling over 20 metres (65 feet) to the ground below.

Following the fall, the man was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. Police are still investigating.
