Last Chance to Nominate in the That's Shanghai Sports Awards

By Ned Kelly, December 15, 2017

1 1

The 8th Annual Camel and That’s Shanghai Sports Awards will take place on Thursday, February 8, and we're accepting nominations from now until December 22.

Once a year, we gather to recognize those who have truly made their mark on the city’s amateur sports scene: from the home-run hitters and KO punchers, to those who lift up their mates when all seems lost. They’re our friends, our family and, occasionally, our blood-thirsty rivals.

After the last couple of years' fundraising heroics, we will be also recognizing the sports team that raises the most money for charity over the course of the awards. Oh, and there will be a raffle fundraiser on the night, with all money raised going to the Baobei Foundation

There are 16 awards across six categories in the adult selection, plus three school categories with six awards to be won, as follows:

Camel and That’s Shanghai Sports Awards
Sports Personality of the Year
Team of the Year
Coach of the Year
Best Newcomer
Best International Performance
Lifetime Achievement Award

Camel and That’s Shanghai School Sports Awards
Sports Personality of the Year
Team of the Year
Coach of the Year

Additionally, there will be an award for Most Charitable Team. Over the last couple of years teams have been raising money for a charity in order to gain votes. We welcome competitive natures being put to such benevolent use, so please do try to raise money for the charity of your choice during the period leading up to the Sports Awards. Most money raised, wins! Game on.

Think you have a contender? Please send nominations with a photo and brief description of 100 words or less for your pick to marketing@urbanatomy.com by December 22.

Please note: the event is strictly for amateur sports and sportspeople.

The Awards will take place at the Camel Sports Bar and Kitchen on Thursday, February 8.
