Chinese New Year is nearly here, and that means you’ll need to be a little more careful out in public.

In the weeks before and after Spring Festival, pickpocketing and other petty crimes are more common around China, especially in crowded places like train stations, transportation hubs, bus stops, popular tourist attractions and metro cars. Remain vigilant and beware of theives and other scammers during this time of year.
