Signum Quartet: A Schubert Affair

Founded in 1994, the Signum Quartet is widely regarded as one of today’s most influential string quartets. Acclaimed for their expressive depth and interpretative clarity, the ensemble has twice been awarded Germany’s highest classical music honor, the Opus Klassik Chamber Music Recording of the Year—in both 2019 and 2024—with recordings dedicated to the works of Schubert.

For this special concert, they return with an all-Schubert program, seamlessly weaving together his original string quartet compositions and arrangements of his lieder. In doing so, they reveal the profound emotional continuity between Schubert’s vocal and instrumental works, offering audiences a rare and moving exploration of the composer’s inner world—where the joys and sorrows of life find universal resonance through music.
