In an exciting collaboration, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), Guangzhou's Pazhou Ferry Terminal (Canton Fair Ferry Terminal) and partnered airlines have joined forces to provide travelers with convenient pre-check-in services.

From October 15 to November 4, during the 134th Canton Fair, passengers can enjoy streamlined pre-check-in procedures for their journey between HKIA and the Canton Fair grounds.

Exhibitors and visitors to the Canton Fair can now effortlessly pre-check-in at dedicated counters located within the fairground.

This service includes printing boarding passes and even offers complimentary luggage delivery services to the Pazhou Ferry Terminal.

Why Pre-Check-in Services at the Canton Fair?

The Canton Fair is the largest international trade event in China, attracting tens of thousands of exhibitors, business professionals, and traders from around the world.

Offering pre-check-in services during the fair leverages the extensive air travel network at Hong Kong International Airport, making it easy for international businesspersons, exhibition industry experts, and travelers from Guangzhou to move back and forth from the fair to the world.

Advantages of Using the Ferry Service to HKIA Over Other Modes of Transport

The Pazhou Ferry Terminal, conveniently located next to the Canton Fair complex, provides high-speed ferry services directly to Hong Kong International Airport.

Passengers only need to bring their luggage to HKIA's dedicated counters.

The staff will take care of pre-check-in procedures and ensure your luggage reaches the port.

After an exhibition visit, you can head to the Pazhou Ferry Terminal and board the high-speed ferry.

In just about 2.5 hours, you'll arrive directly at the HKIA restricted area's SkyPier, where you can proceed to your flight without the need for standard Hong Kong immigration and customs procedures.

Benefitting from HKIA's extensive air travel network, this service makes it more convenient for visitors from various parts of the world to attend the Canton Fair.

Expanding Services for Travelers from Other Airlines

The collaboration with Cathay Pacific Airways is a starting point, and discussions with other airlines are underway to explore the expansion of such services.

The goal is to provide convenient travel choices for a broader range of travelers.

Resuming High-speed Ferry Services to and from the Greater Bay Area

High-speed ferry services connecting HKIA and ports in the Greater Bay Area have gradually resumed since the beginning of this year.

Presently, HKIA offers high-speed ferry services connecting to six ports: Pazhou in Guangzhou, Shekou in Shenzhen, Fuyong in Shenzhen, Zhongshan Ferry Terminal, Humen in Dongguan, and Taipa in Macau.

HKIA's Role in the Greater Bay Area

HKIA has always played a pivotal role as a "dual gateway" connecting the Greater Bay Area with the rest of the world.

With the support of China's National "14th Five-Year Plan" Outline, HKIA will continue to fulfill its gateway role and align its development with the Greater Bay Area.

In addition to high-speed ferry services, HKIA is actively conducting market research in the Greater Bay Area.

The aim is to increase the number of city terminals in the region to 30 within the next few years, providing even more convenient "multi-modal transport" services for residents of the Greater Bay Area.
