TVB (Television Broadcasts Limited) collaborated with data science experts and the MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node to introduce the first-ever AI emcee, Evelyn (陈婉嫣).
Evelyn was generated using a comprehensive analysis of 50 years of clips featuring past Miss Hong Kong champions, and was designed to have the quintessential "beauty queen face."
During the grand finale, AI played a pivotal role in comparing this year's 16 contestants with an AI-generated lineup of past top-three Miss Hong Kong winners from the past 51 years.
This AI comparison assessed the similarity of facial features, generating a likeness score.
Additionally, each contestant engaged in a unique "cross-time" dialogue with their AI-generated "future selves," and was challenged with AI-generated questions.
In the final round featuring the five last remaining contestants and the AI emcee, Evelyn engaged in a direct one-minute debate, asking the same question to each of them.
The incorporation of AI into the pageant marked a significant departure from tradition, and aimed to enhance the viewer experience and the contestants' interactions with "future" elements.
As AI continues to expand its influence across various fields, what areas do you look forward to seeing AI utilized? And do you have any concerns about the increased use of AI?
