Yellow Alert Issued for Super Typhoon Saola

China's National Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert for rainstorms, with heavy downpours expected to lash multiple regions of the country as Typhoon Saola approaches.

Currently passing the Philippines, Saola intensified into a super typhoon on Sunday.

China's State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and the Ministry of Emergency Management have called for precautions against flooding in relevant areas.

At least 81 people have been killed in recent floods across China, with capital Beijing experiencing its heaviest rainfall for 140 years.

China has a four-tier weather warning system, with red representing the most severe warning, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
