Oil has a stacked weekend full of events. On Friday, Mingo and Piro will be in Room 2, Saturday is Underground Union’s four-year anniversary and on Sunday an event called Hypnagogia featuring Weng Weng, who has been one of the most influential figures in China’s electronic music scene, is on.

Fri-Sun, Aug 21-23: Spm Youth Bloc Night Market

This giant hip hop-themed night market is taking place at The MixC at Hi-tech Park Station and will be running until midnight. Twenty food stalls, 40 original design street brands and 23 restaurants all with different international flavors will be present. Expect takoyaki, Taiwanese fried chicken, ice cream, luosifen (stinky snail noodles), hip hop performances and more this weekend.

Sat, Aug 22: Lazy Laowai HIIT and Archery

Get up bright and early for a dose of HIIT. Bring a yoga mat, water and a small towel. If it’s easy, then you’re doing it wrong. Later on the day, archery and dinner will be on from 5-6pm. Check out a list of activities happening this weekend here. Activities require a 50% nonrefundable deposit, please arrive 10 minutes ahead of the start time.

Sat-Sun, Aug 22-23: Kink
Come out for the most epic gaythering of the year. Two days at a private seaside resort, with drinks and a DJ, this is sure to be a weekend that won’t be remembered. Friends, alcohol and sand will be coming at you.

Sun, Aug 23: Book Exchange Library

The Book Exchange Library is back! Come browse books, meet people and exchange ideas. As per usual, you are welcome to drop by anytime and do a quick book run or you can spend some time reading, chatting and all that fun stuff. The Book Exchange is Shenzhen’s biggest expat library, with around 800 English volumes and 200 Chinese/foreign language ones. During events, their collection is opened up for checkouts, returns and discussions.
