This Friday and Saturday head over to Merchiston International School to enjoy these two fantastic family-fun events.

On Friday, October 12 at 3.30pm at The Colinton Atrium (3rd floor of MIS), guest lecturer Simon Thompson, will give an interactive talk on '20th Century Europe.'

Mr. Thompson is the Head of History and Politics at Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh. His particular interests tend towards 16th century Europe, although he teaches a wide range of courses at the school.

Mr. Thompson also enjoys contextualising modern societies via the arts. He will speak at Merchiston about the connection that Adolf Hitler had with Richard Wagner’s teutonic operas from the 19th century.

MIS has attracted extensive attention from both the public and media since announcing the opening of their international school in Shenzhen last year. In May 2018, they were honoured to host the Lord Provost of Edinburgh and his team from Scotland. The BBC filmed a documentary at MIS which will be aired in October in the UK.

Merchiston International School (MIS) in Shenzhen is the first overseas campus of Merchiston Castle School, a top-ranked independent school located in Edinburgh, Scotland, with a glorious history of over 185 years. MIS is also the first international school in Shenzhen providing a British international education and boarding system.

Located in Longhua District in the north of Shenzhen, MIS occupies a ground space of 20,000 square meters providing a building area of 50,000 square meters. The school opened to boys and girls in August 2018.

As places are limited only registered guests will be accommodated, to attend MIS Official Opening Ceremony you can register here.
