Autumn in South China is undeniably hot, if not scorching, but colder weather is en route and expected to arrive in Guangzhou and the surrounding region this evening, according to a report carried by Tencent News this morning.

A cold front, which hit Hunan province this morning, is predicted to enter the mountainous area of northern Guangdong this afternoon.

According to Guangdong Weather, most cities and counties in the province can expect an average temperature drop of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius.

As of 1pm today, The Weather Channel had a high of 29 degrees Celsius listed for Guangzhou and a low of 25. Tomorrow the low drops to 21 and from October 13-18 the low is forecast as 22 degrees Celsius. Highs will remain in the high 20s and low 30s.

While the temperature highs in the Pearl River Delta are still quite hot, the lows should offer a nice reprieve. Who knows, with a light breeze you might even be able to rock a light sweater in the evenings.
