After a successful trip in 2015, FC Bayern is returning to Asia this month for the Audi Summer Tour 2017! At the moment, we can confirm that 18 players are making the trip, including Germany World Cup winners Thomas Müller and Mats Hummels, plus top forwards Robert Lewandowski and Frank Ribéry.
Rumor also has it that newly joined Columbian top scorer James Rodríguez will make an appearance.
The first match in FC Bayern’s tour will take place in Shanghai on July 19 against Arsenal, before the team heads south to face seven-time Champions League/European Cup winners AC Milan in Shenzhen.
Two more games will take place in Singapore, one against Chelsea and another against 18-time Italian champions Inter Milan.
This year's Audi Summer Tour will take place in China for the second time, while it will be FC Bayern’s third trip to the nation, after successful matches in the PRC in 2012 and 2015.
"The Audi Summer Tour is an integral part of our international strategy, supporting our global brand development. There are about 135 million FC Bayern fans in China, and the club is becoming more and more popular in Southeast Asia,” said Jörg Wacker, FC Bayern München AG head of internationalization and strategy.
“So I'm glad we'll play in Shanghai and Shenzhen under the motto 'Visiting Friends' and present our team in July. We're equally looking forward to the top-class matches in front of many Bayern fans from the whole of Southeast Asia in Singapore."
