For many in the West, 2016 will be remembered for Trump, Brexit, terrorism in Europe and an absurd number of pop culture deaths, from Bowie to Muhammad Ali. By comparison, China had an unusually quiet year. Nonetheless, there were still a few goings-on in the world's most populous country.
In our 2016 Year in Review series, we recap the best (and worst) of China's year in the worlds of technology, social media, sport, fashion, food, arts and more.
Tomorrow night, 2016 will come to an end. As we reflect on what ended up being a weird and wild year, we figured it might be fun to look back on our year through Instagram. We love sharing our readers’ best snapshots of life in and around the Pearl River Delta on the That’s PRD Instagram page and featuring the best of the best on our 'Instagram of the Week' column. Checking out photos from our region always reminds us how freaking cool the PRD actually is. So here are some of our favorite photos from 2016. Cheers to all of you who tagged us this year. And Happy New Year to everyone!
