Getting French, German and Dutch visas just got easier for Shenzhen residents as of May 3, with the opening of a new joint visa application center in Futian District.
With more Chinese citizens journeying to Europe for business and pleasure each year, the new center is bound to see crowds of interested travelers. According to a press release from TLScontact and their local partner CIIC, over 170,000 visa applications are issued annually for tourists, companies and traders traveling to France, Germany and the Netherlands.
More telling yet is the fact that around 40 percent of all visa applications issued at Guangzhou consulates for the above nations came from applicants living in or around Shenzhen.
Now, with a new visa center and simplified application procedures, all three countries hope to welcome more Chinese tourists in the months to come. The center will record biometric data and collect visa applications before forwarding them to respective consulates in Guangzhou for processing.
Located at 1002 Shennan Zhong Lu in Futian District, the new visa office promises to offer high-quality, customer-oriented services to all visa applicants.
The center’s opening ceremony in early May brought together distinguished guests and officials, and included speeches by Marjo Crompvoets, the Dutch consul general in Guangzhou, Helmut Luders, German consul general in Guangzhou and Bertrand Furno, French consul general in Guangzhou, among others.
