Sad news this morning for ticket holders to this weekend’s Sea World Charity Music Concert, as the event has been canceled due to “recent events.”
According to reports, Shekou Daily will be offering full refunds for tickets, t-shirts and tables reserved for the concert.
The “recent events” spoken of in the Shekou Daily announcement are likely a reference to the massive drug raid last Sunday at a tunnel party in Nanshan District. The bust resulted in as many as 118 partygoers testing positive for drugs – with a majority testing positive for marijuana.
See below for the full Shekou Daily announcement:
"It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that the Charity Music Concert in Sea World has been canceled. Citing the recent events, the Nanshan government has withdrawn its support of the Charity Music Concert for Promised Land Special Education originally planned for this Saturday, February 27. ShekouDaily would like to assure everyone that 100 percent refunds will be issued for table, ticket and t-shirt purchases made for the event. Simply contact the person you purchased your tickets from. We feel terrible for not being able to support Promised Land Special Education as planned. We will continue to look for ways to do so in the future. Thanks to everyone for your support and involvement in the cause."
