Henan Jianye vs Shanghai Shenxin
Last Wednesday Shanghai Shenxin traveled to Henan Jianye looking to continue the form that saw them secure a surprise victory against Chinese Super League second placed team Beijing Guo'an last week. And they looked on course in the 24th minute when Brazilian forward Jaílton Paraíba ran clean through on goal from a long ball from the back and cooly slotted home for a 1-0 halftime lead. Henan hit back on the hour mark with an absolute piledriver from the edge of the box into the top corner from midfielder Xu Yang. But Shenxin were to make it two wins on the trot with just six minutes left to play when another long ball, and some inept defending from Henan's Sierra Leone centre-back Gibril Sankoh, allowed substitute Yang Jiawei steal in for a winner that silenced the home fans.
Jiangsu Sainty vs Shanghai Dongya
Sunday saw Shanghai Dongya travel to in form Jiangsu Sainty looking for a win that would keep them in the AFC Champions League hunt. Thing weren't looking good after half an hour when Jiangsu Montenegrin forward Dejan Damjanović (pictured above) got in behind the Dongya defence and lifted it over keeper Yan Junling to put the home side 1-0 up. And despite a few snatched chances by both sides, that's how it ended, a result that saw Jiangsu leapfrog Dongya, who are now down to 7th in the CSL.
Shanghai Shenxin vs Changchun Yatai
Shanghai Shenxin came into their Sunday evening home game against Changchun Yatai off the back of a three-match unbeaten run. Things didn't look good, however, when they fell behind to a spectacular flying backheel own goal by Yu Tao in the 20th minute. Changchun looked to have sealed it with three minutes left to play when when forward Liu Xiaodong was brought down in the box by Shenxin keeper Liu Dianzuo and Brazilian midfielder Eninho confidently drove home from the penalty spot. And the game was up when Shenxin's Brazilian forward Kieza missed a potential lifeline of a penalty in the dying second.
