The limited-edition menu will be available from 10am until sold out on May 18 (Saturday) at Shake Shack Xintiandi in Shanghai, and on May 25 (Saturday) at Shake Shack Taikoo Li Sanlitun in Beijing.

Shake Shack’s Fine Dining Roots

In 2001, when Shake Shack launched as a hotdog cart in Madison Square Park in New York, the team operated out of the kitchen of critically acclaimed Eleven Madison Park, applying the same fine dining sensibilities and premium ingredients to the hot dogs. As a nod to its fine dining roots, Shake Shack has collaborated with some of the most influential chefs in the world including Danny Yip of The Chairman (Hong Kong), Zaiyu Hasegawa of Den (Tokyo), David Chang of Momofuku (New York), Kang Mingoo of Mingles (Seoul) and Dominique Ansel (New York).

An Exploration East and West Flavors

Ling Long’s chef Jason Liu represents a new generation of chefs in mainland China. Under Jason’s leadership, the two Ling Long restaurants in Beijing and Shanghai have both earned a Michelin star, and Ling Long Shanghai recently ascended to the 36th spot on the prestigious “2024 Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants" list, making chef Liu one of the leading figures promoting refined Chinese cuisine.

Blending Shake Shack’s classic menu items with chef Jason Liu's contemporary vision of Chinese cuisine, this collaboration menu will celebrate China’s robust flavors and highlight local ingredients:

Inspired by Ling Long’s signature "Oysters and Beef" dish, the burger combines the flavors of Shake Shack's grass-fed Angus beef patty with the umami from a sauce made with Fujian oysters, that is stewed for 14 hours. The Ling Long Shack features a smoked cheeseburger, topped with five-spice powder, XO sauce, roselle-infused radish slices, fried shallots, fresh mizuna, and house-made mayonnaise.

Shake Shack’s frozen vanilla custard is blended with charcoal-roasted oolong tea from Anxi, which is then topped with a lightly-roasted oolong tea powder. The Ling Long Oolong Shake presents a smoky aroma and distinctive earthly flavor.

Event Details

The limited edition duo will be priced as a set for RMB158, and will be available from 10am until sold out on May 18 (Saturday) at Shake Shack Xintiandi in Shanghai, and on May 25 (Saturday) at Shake Shack Taikoo Li Sanlitun in Beijing.

From May 6, guests who pre-order the set on Shake Shack's official account on Xiaohongshu will receive an exclusive gift from the collaboration. On the day of the event, limited edition Shake Shack x Ling Long collab swag will also be available, while stock lasts.

“We are incredibly excited about this collaboration between Shake Shack and Ling Long. This partnership gave us the opportunity to explore and push the boundaries with Chinese flavors with Shake Shack’s menu. At Ling Long, our mission is to showcase the diversity and potential of Chinese cuisine on the world stage, and I hope everyone who gets to try the menu will enjoy it as much as I did working on the menu with my team,” says chef Jason Liu of Ling Long.

Shake It Up for Five Years!

Since the opening its first mainland China store in Xintiandi, Shanghai in 2019, Shake Shack has since expanded to 38 locations in 15 cities across the country.

Rooted in its strong sense of community and its mission to “Stand For Something Good,” Shake Shack seeks out local ingredients and partners with community purveyors whenever it opens on a new city to reflect the local neighborhood and celebrate the city’s culinary traditions – the brand’s City Shake program is a testament to this commitment.

To celebrate Shake Shack’s fifth anniversary in mainland China, from May 27 to May 31, guests can vote for a City Shake that they would like to bring to their hometown on Shake Shack’s Xiaohongshu. The winning City Shake for each city will then be available for a limited time only after voting has concluded. Stay tuned for more details on Shake Shack’s official social channels.
