6 Tips to Riding Smoothly with DiDi This Holiday Season

The holiday season is upon us! DiDi would like to take the time to thank you for trusting and choosing them throughout the year. As you and your fellow riders hit the streets for family reunions and parties, remember that drivers will also take some time off to be with their loved ones.

During this time, they expect the wait to be a bit longer than usual. As you get on your way, here are 6 tips to ensure that your trip is easy and safe with DiDi's English Version (DiDi EN):

Plan in advance:
Make reservations through your DiDi app so you can avoid the last-minute waiting anxiety. Use the ‘Reserve’ tab to schedule a ride from 15 minutes (30 minutes if you are taking DiDi Luxe) to two days in advance.

Walk to the green dot:
The green dot that pops up on the map when you request a ride is a suggested nearby pickup spot that is the most convenient boarding location. A short walk to the nearest dot may save you lots of time!

Making sure you get around safely is DiDi’s top priority! Before getting on your ride, make sure the car is the correct one you hailed on our app. Here are a few more things to watch out for:

Add your Emergency Contact:
The first thing to do before your trip starts is to save a trusted contact in the app. 198 million riders have already added their emergency contact (Chinese mainland mobile numbers only).

Sharing your status:
When you have parties or dinners with your family and friends, it is always helpful to share your status when your ride begins. Click the ‘Share your status’ tab so that others know when to expect you and your route information.

Drink & ride responsibly:
It’s important to drink responsibly and be respectful to people around you, including your driver. Don’t drive after drinking – take a DiDi instead! If your friend has been drinking, make sure that he/she isn’t riding alone under the influence of alcohol.

24/7 support:
Their safety response team works closely with the law enforcement. If the need should arise, they are there on standby 24/7. You can contact them via DiDi’s in-app English customer support or click the ‘Call Police’ button in case of emergency.
