An AirFrance flight en route to Shanghai from Paris was forced to land in Siberia on Sunday after the cabin filled up with smoke mid-air.

None of the 282 passengers aboard flight AF116 were injured as a result of the incident, according to AFP.

The Boeing 777 aircraft was diverted to Russia after smoke was spotted in the cabin. The plane made an emergency landing in Irkutsk, Siberia.

AirFrance officials told AFP that the flight was scheduled to complete its journey to Shanghai on Monday following an examination of the aircraft and technical clearance.
