Forests are a trio from Taiwan dealing in quirky distorted pop-rock songs, or as they describe it, taking 'irresistibly catchy guitar pop and throwing it down a flight of stairs.' The duo are taking their unique and somewhat psychedelic new album, Idol Collapse, on a China tour, and are passing through Mao Livehouse this month for what's sure to be an excellent show with Shanghai band Foster Parents in support.
Aug 10, 8.30pm, RMB100 presale, RMB120 door. MAO Livehouse, see event listing.

Aug 10: Marian Hill

Aug 10, RMB240-330. Modern Sky Lab, see event listing.

Aug 11: Love Bang: Culture Crash!

Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda brings his deeply personal solo album, Post Traumatic, on tour through Shanghai at Jing'an Sports Center. Recorded while Shinoda was processing his grief after the death of Linkin Park bandmate Chester Bennington, the album is far different than his Linkin Park work but was acclaimed for its honesty and hopeful tone.
Aug 14, 8pm, RMB380-1,280. Jing’an Sports Center, see event listing, buy tickets
