Shanghai to Stay Wet and Windy for the Next Few Days

Shanghai is feeling the effects of nearby Typhoon Khanun this week, with forecasters predicting wet and windy weather to continue for the next few days.

After being placed under a blue alert yesterday due to gales and rainstorms, residents in Shanghai should expect more of the same and brace themselves as both are predicted to be gaining in strength.

Due to a cold front in addition to the typhoon that has been making its way across Southern China, 80-150 millimeters of rainfall is expected in eastern and southern areas of the city.

With cloudy conditions forecasted for Thursday and Friday, the rain should be stopping on Wednesday where temperatures are expected to climb to 21 degrees Celsius from the meager 17-20 degrees they have been.

Cloudy skies in the latter half of the week will seem like a merciful reprieve following the rainy weekend. However, broken umbrellas strewn on the pavement may be a more likely sight over the next two days.
