How to Apply for the New Permanent Residence Card in Shanghai

From today onwards, holders of Chinese green cards can apply for the new “foreign permanent resident ID cards," which will start being issued nationwide on June 16. The cards will be issued within 20 days from the initial application.

For green card holders in Shanghai, application of the new ID card can be made at the Exit-Entry Inspection of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau and its branch offices.

Applicants in Shanghai may call 2895-1900 for further enquiries.
