Mar 24-27 and 30: Wuthering Heights
After bringing The Jungle Book and Sherlock Holmes and the Hounds of Baskervilles
on China tours last year, acclaimed UK theater group Chapterhouse
Theater returns with their highly-praised stage adaption of Emily

Mar 27-28: David Binney Trio
The prolific saxophonist has been consistently praised for his original approach with the Jazz Times
singling him out as one of the “players who have created an alternative
jazz scene, all of whom are playing adventurous, original music.” While
he’s shared big stages with Aretha Franklin and Maceo Parker, Binney is
equally comfortable rocking basement clubs across New York’s
underground jazz scene.

Famed British dancer Derek Deane choreographs this modern interpretation of Hamlet from the Shanghai Ballet, which has won wide praise since its 2014 world premiere.

Mar 28-Aug 13: Kaws - Where the End Starts
Yuz
Museum is the second stop in this hit career retrospective of the pop
art star. The Brooklyn-based artist cut his teeth in the city's grafitti
scene, developing a style of remaking popular pop culture figures like
The Simpsons and Mickey Mouse. KAWS has collaborated with Uniqlo on
limited edition tees, remade MTV's Moonman award, designed album covers
for The Clipse and recently took over Yorkshire Sculpture Park with his

Mar 29: Dee Archer
The
soulful singer-songwriter has recorded and shared stages with rock
giants B.B. King, Rod Stewart and Joe Cocker. She celebrates her latest
EP, Paradise, which was co-produced by Nate Wingfield, guitarist in the legendary Sly & The Family Stone.

Mar 29: Cosmic Child
Singapore’s
indie scene is booming and these shoegaze stalwarts are bringing their
nostalgic, dreamy music to On Stage as part of their first China tour to
support their debut disc, Untitled.

Mar 30: RunnersHai
The
Shanghai running group is meeting up on the last Thursday of the month for a 6.5K run at Century Park. While you can always compete
with the other runners, you can also race against yourself, as RunnersHai
will be tracking times after each race and distributing the results to
see how you rank in comparison to your previous runs.

Mar 31: Hooked and El Santo Grand Opening party
The Found 158 restaurants celebrate their official opening with a massive bash featuring RMB25 deals on house lager, wines and spirits (Hooked) and Coronas, tequila shots and selected Tacos (El Santo). DJs Skinny Brown, Emily and Kelso spin.

Mar 31: Etapp Kyle
Say
Yes and Room 303 team up to present the Ukrainian phenom that is taking
the techno world by storm. Kyle has quickly gone from stay-at-home
audiophile to in-demand DJ and producer who has won wide support from
Russia’s techno institution, ARMA17.

Mar 31: Addison Groove
The
Sweatshop crew welcomes the acclaimed UK producer, known as one of the
first producers in recent years to fuse UK influences with urgent,
energetic beats from Chicago, namely footwork,
juke and ghetto house.

Mar 31: Bassjackers
The Dutch electro-house duo has scored hits like ‘Crackin’ and ‘Wave Your Hands.’ Currently, they are ranked No. 34 on DJ Mag’s annual fan-voted Top 100 DJ list.

Apr 1: An Evening with John Bentley
The Caxton and The Shanghai Dolphins proudly present an evening with the rugby league and rugby union star, who was part of the Premiership winning Newcastle Falcons as well as the British and Irish Lions as toured South Africa. Admission includes free flow drinks with all proceeds benefiting Bo Ai Children’s Rehabilitation Centre, which provides care for disabled and underprivileged children in China.

Apr 1: Harper and Midwest Kind
The
award-winning Australian singer-songwriter Peter D. Harper has won wide
acclaim for his distinct take on roots, which he dubs ‘world blues.’ A
masterful harmonicist, guitarist and didgeridoo player, Harper’s 2016
disc Show Your Love topped the charts across Europe and spent six months in the Top 10 of the Billboard Blues Chart.

Apr 2: Dog Day Saturdays (Changed to Sunday)
On the first Saturday of the month, The Rooster (Jing’an) throws a backyard party where dogs are welcome. This month, the event has been changed to Sunday (Apr 2) due to the working holiday. There will be free hot dogs, RMB35 Flying Dog Beers and dog treats for the little buddies. Donations will also be collected for local animal rescue group, Best Friends China.

Apr 2: A Knock Out 6
The Aboro Foundation and Aboro Academy host this biannual charity boxing and kickboxing event. Amateur fighters from the academy will battle fighters from other Shanghai gyms. Funds raised will go to Aboro Foundation, which was started by undefeated women’s boxing champion Michele Aboro to inspire physical and mental wellbeing through fitness and nutritional education. Fights start at 2pm.

Apr 2: Why Be + Rui Ho
Wooozy Offline and Genome6.66Mbp team up to present a double bill of producers making waves in future noise. Korean-born, Danish-raised and Berlin and Cophenhagen-based Why Be has been working on the fringes of experimental dance music through projects like Demon City. He’s increasingly gaining traction in the mainstream thanks to acclaimed tracks like the FACT Mag-approved ‘Heroin Hat.’ Berlin-based, China-raised Rui Ho has raves for his enigmatic mixture of modern electronic club beats with traditional Chinese music soundscapes.

Apr 2: Basic Soul Unit
VOID presents the Canadian house and techno mastermind, who's acclaimed for his expansive sound. Comfortably able to swing from lush and soulful to crunchy and jacking, Basic Soul Unit is known for his adventurous sets.
