Online shoe repair service Cobbler’s Suggest is going to solve all of your shoe troubles!
Anyone who has lived in Shanghai will tell you that this city destroys shoes with its bumpy roads, crowded subways and long wet rainy season.
What makes the story even more tragic is that it is hard to find a local cobbler that you can communicate with, given the language barrier. Plus, carrying your shoes with you to look for cobblers during your lunch break and returning after you get off to pick them up is quite a hassle. (We don’t want to do that during weekends, do we? Weekends are supposed to be fun!
There is a solution! The startup Cobbler’s Suggest helps you get your shoes repaired without going through any trouble. Just order on WeChat and S.F. Express will collect your shoes and send them back once they are done in a week or so.
Founder Claire Yan first came up with this idea when she found all her heels were broken but had no time to fix them. She brought her idea to Jack Peng, and together they started Cobbler’s Suggest together in 2015. Claire’s American education background and fashion related work experience helped her cater to the needs of both local and international communities, and Jack makes sure that all of the work in Cobbler’s Suggest is of the highest quality, given his background creating high-end custom shoe brand Jack Peng in 2009. His shoe shops still operate in Hong Kong Plaza and West Gate Mall.
The main benefit of having both shoemakers and cobblers on hand to work on your shoes is the full range of skills they possess, allowing them to competently fix all kinds of shoe problems. For example, the shoe craftsman of 35 years can fix the soles of your Goodyear welt shoes, while the cobbler of 19 years can hand color your shoes to make them look exactly like their original color. Cobbler’s Suggest has a service called “Renovation” which includes refurbishment, color repair and damage repair.
To celebrate their launch, Cobbler’s Suggest is offering 50% off deal to all first time users. They currently also offer special services for shoes that are damaged from the Shanghai rainy season. Scan the QR code now to kiss your shoe problems good bye!
