A recurring look at what's happening at Shanghai's art galleries:
1. Cool Lhongdhang
It’s been a scorching summer and MoCA Pavillion presents this cooling project with special events happening over five days. Cool Lhongdhang taps into the pre-air conditioner days, where Shanghai residents would cool down by sitting outside, chowing down red bean ice cream and enjoying the outside breeze listening to tales from the neighborhood storyteller. Scheduled events includes a performance by DJ Aming on Aug 5, comedy on Aug 7 served with mung bean and lily soup, lectures on making handmade circular fans on Aug 8 plus much more.
Aug 2-9. MoCA Pavilion.

Art Labor hosts this colorful group exhibition that features six artists - Jayson Atienza, Howie Tsui, Marc Standing, Zhou Fan, Shang Chengxiang (see above), Wang Qing and Zhou Jinhua indulging their surreal side across a variety of mediums.

This massive touring exhibition features over 500 pieces of his work dating back to his childhood bringing visitors deep into his mind, split into nine areas based around a movie theme.
