After a brief stint as a pop-up shop at Light & Salt’s Rockbund location in 2014, Wondullful is coming back in the most high-profile way possible with in a 420-square-meter space at the busy intersection of Nanjing Xi Lu and Huashan Lu, just a stone’s throw from Jing’an Temple.
As part of the Aunn Community, Wondullful is located on the second floor of this four-story compound, just above a bustling hipster café. There’s also multifunctional event space on the third floor, and a soon-to-be-unveiled concept on the top floor to round things out. Wondullful is split into different sections, but the products and brands they carry all blend cohesively in a balance between luxury and simplicity.
Home décor items occupy a good chunk of Wondullful’s offerings. In the home scents corner, you will find a range of artisanal candles, aroma oil, scent diffusers, and French music producer Lola James Harper’s ‘Wondullful’ scented candle (RMB385), specially created for the store. Just steps away, a nicely curated selection of kitchenware, glassware, Malaysian colonial-style wooden cabinets (from RMB8,500) and African rugs (from RMB1,800) are also available.
Located next to prominent high-end office towers, Wondullful also aims to attract their tasteful neighbors with their stationery products. Standouts include a series of Printograph notebooks (from RMB145), each with a unique cover made with vintage African fabric of different colors and patterns.
Digging further into the back of the space, there’s a separate boutique area for local fashion design label JINNNN, showcasing its minimalistic denim-centric pieces.
Before leaving the store, spend a few moments at the tea corner (opening soon) and sample their wide selection of European imported herbal tea, while watching the world go by just a few feet below.
