May 14: NightSHFT FestivalThe former 1LoveShanghai crew has been spreading the good times nationwide as SHFT. They’ve organized this mini-national warehouse tour featuring double headliners UZ (Mad Decent) and rising Atlanta rapper OG Maco (pictured), who was included in XXL’s Freshmen of the Year list last year. Rounding things out is a bill filled with Chinese standouts and on-site artistic activities.

Known  for establishing Strawberry Music Festival as a May holiday institution, Modern Sky delves into the  electronic world with the inaugural edition of MYTH. Mad Decent founder Diplo headlines bringing his distinct flavor that's allowed him to straddle the pop world (Usher, Justin Bieber) and the underground (Major Lazer, M.I.A.). Also recent Tomorrowland headliners DVBBS will perform with over 40 other DJs across three stages designed by Daniel Alexander Oomen (Tomorrowland and Sensation). Girls Night Out - Maggie's Memory
Bar Rouge and MVP Shanghai’s weekly ladies night teams up jewelers Maggie’s Memory to offer original custom designs for their lucky draw. As usual, it’s free cocktails and manicures for the ladies until 11.30pm with DJ John Avolio spinning all your favorite tunes. Dress code: elegant.

Redbox
Carlos Gibbs brings his recurring party that began in San Francisco before moving to Tokyo. Now he’s relaunching the party in Shanghai and for the inaugural edition, he’s invited Ding Dong Disco’s Razor for a night of disco and deep house.

Silent Mansion
The Mansion hosts a silent rave on its first floor, with two DJ booths set up and 150 wireless headphones for people to groove to. On one channel is hip-hop, funk and bass from Subject Zero, Mike Ward and Tommy Hendriks; and the other channel will feature Thomas Futoso, Dama Huhu and Rainbow High spinning house and techno. Don’t worry if you don’t snag headphones. Downstairs, Yeti’s Allan Marshall, Void’s NMLSS, Rankadank’s Misloop and Costin spin with music coming out of a good old high quality sound system.

Stockholm Syndrome: Das Ding
This monthly industrial dance party is headlined by a true veteran whose dark electro tapes struck a major chord when released in the 1980s. Das Sing will perform a live set with resident Tzusing and Illsee in support.

URVC New Life
It’s an end of an era as North Jing’an hotspot URVC is about to transform into a jazz lounge. However, they’re going out with a bang with a few more parties. This weekend, they’re hosting two ‘New Life’ parties. On Friday, it’s Miki Discosnot, Lina K, Simon and Jo. Light. The next day, it’s Deep 19, Dave K, Punx and Jo.light. And don’t fret, the URVC folks are opening a new nightclub in Xintiandi on May 20 called Reel to Reel.

Roost
While its past two editions took place at Gaia2, the latest Rootst party takes over the rooftop of the Eight Art Hotel in the Bund. Changhai Wax Council spins classic old-school house on vinyl, while special guest Lucas Lebatteux to spin and also add chill visuals for the nighttime as the VJ. There’s also RMB25 Coronas specials, RMB35 cocktail deals, a BBQ and even, French oysters.

Asian Vibes pres. Black Hex
Xingfu late night spot Celia (formerly LOgO) hosts the latest Black Hex party celebrating the best in underround techno headlined by Alex Bau.

Dragon Burn Pre Party
The Mansions hosts this Roller Disco FUNdraiser in support for the upcoming Dragon Bur. Discosmic Adventures’ Nik Hilp and Tommy Hendriks spin infectious soul, funk, hip hop, disco and techno tunes.

China Social Club - NTS Radio Live from Shanghai
Once again, China Social Club takes over Elevator for this Sunday afternoon session that’s broadcast live on London based digital radio station, NTS, which was founded by the same people behind the Boiler Room. This one features sets by China Social Club, HBD, Popasuda, Co:mMotion, Nick Monaco and the SVBKVLT crew.

Skinny Brown returns to Dope Shifu for this monthly edition of his always fantastic global bass party. This edition celebrates roots and reggae, with Skinny Brown showing off his custom-made dubplates.
