It’s that time of the week again. That time when we look at all the Instagram photos tagged #ThatsShanghai from this past week, share the crème de la crème on @ThatsShanghai and finally pick our favorite to be crowned 'Instagram of the Week.'

And this week, it had to be @gettingbalanced, with her quintessentially Shanghainese scene.

Spring is here, the proverbial snow has melted and the non-proverbial smog has begun to dissipate, which means Shanghai’s perennial seniors have begun to reclaim their rightful spot within the city's parks, squares and sidewalks, sitting around a tall table, playing cards or — as in this case — mahjong.

Well, who are we kidding, they never left. Still, their ranks will swell as the weather warms, and you’ll be unable to evade this fixture of Shanghai life.

Stop by @gettingbalanced’s page to see more of her œuvre, and @ThatsShanghai to see our other picks from this week, past weeks, and all future weeks.

Tag your own pics #ThatsShanghai to potentially be our next pick!
