Beats by Dre take over Le Baron and they’ve invited Japanese fashion designer and DJ Alisa Ueno to spin. In addition to shaping the style of young and hip Japanese as the brand director of Fig&Viper, Ueno also has a weekly show on Rinse FM. Joining in on the fun is Yasmin. Nov 13-14: Fabrizio Mammarella
The ascending Italian producer is leading the latest new Italian Dance Wave as founder of the acclaimed Slow Motion label. He’s pulling double duty in Shanghai. On Friday, he performs his Telespazio set, which focuses on infectious tracks from his last album mixing contemporary and old school disco with future house and new funk. Nov 14: Asia Vibes 4th Anniversary
To celebrate their fourth anniversary, promoters Asia Vibes have invited the Japanese pioneer Anri to headline. She’ll be making the trip from her current base in Berlin, bringing her elegant mix of deep house and techno. Nov 15: DâM-FunK
A certified funk legend makes his return to The Shelter after six years. Since cutting his teeth as an in-demand musician in the early-90’s West Coast G-funk scene, DâM-FunK has been recruited by rappers like Snoop Dogg, Q-Tip and MC Eiht. He’s connected to a new generation of partiers thanks to recent releases on the celebrated Stones Throw label. Santo Chino and others will guest, with tickets limited to strictly 400. Traxman (cancelled)
Unfortunately The Shelter’s booking off Traxman is off due to visa issues. The club is promising the Chicago favorite will return to the venue sometime in the future and have rebounded with this free show featuring Nat Alexander, Howell and guests.
