“Shanghai’s Tropical Jazz Troupe” Tequila Boombox will take the stage April 30 at OkOk Club, the city’s premier gathering place for musicians, to share original music of a tropical jazz" flavor alongside standards from the Blues, Boogaloo, Calpyso and Latin Jazz traditions. This performance will be recorded LIVE and later mixed and mastered into the group’s first live album; all lovers of jazz, rhythm and/or beaches are invited to come lend their table-top tapping and other audible enthusiasms to this album.

That's not all - the concert will be followed by yet another LIVE recording, same stage, same (late) night, themed a “Celebration of Shanghai Musicians.” OkOk Club has now for years been host to some of the city’s most spontaneous, virtuosic, yet welcoming jam sessions for working musicians and anyone else keen to embrace the stage; this night will serve to document but one of those sessions.
