In honor of Ocean’s Day, Green Initiatives is dedicating our June events to the ocean and all its majestic creatures. The ocean produces over half of the world's oxygen and absorbs 50 times more carbon dioxide than our atmosphere.

Moving away from a scientific lecture, our forum will discuss our connections to the ocean, sharks, corals and what we can do to support ocean conservation. Some of the questions we are looking to explore at this event are:

-How are oceans connected to our lives?

-What are the biggest threats to the ocean?

-What are the most effective ways for us to collaborate in conservation?

-What are the roles sharks play in the ocean’s equilibrium and how can shark tourism be a tool for conservation? What are the negative impacts?

-What are some of the hidden mysteries of the ocean?
