Trivia Thursdays at Hooley's

August 6: Brewers & Union trivia at Hooley's

Register your team of four to five people before 8pm to enjoy some mind-bending trivia. Possible rounds include current events, history, general knowledge, geography and pop culture, among others. This week's trivia will also include a connection and photo round. 

Prizes for the top three teams and live music afterwards with The Vibe starting at 10pm.

Arrive early to guarantee you get a table.

August 6: Christ Church Cathedral Choir Oxford

Founded in 1526, Christ Church Cathedral Choir is renowned for its youthfulness of sound and adventurous musical programming. Unique in the world as both cathedral and college choir, the intimate acoustic of its musical home has given it a relationship with early sacred music and the rhythm and vigor of contemporary idioms. The choir consists of 12 adult men and 16 young choristers, aged 7-13, and is directed by Stephen Darlington. Be sure to catch this distinct male choir group on its China tour this month.

August 7-9: The Forest of Grimm (pictured above)

The Forest of Grimm (El Bosque de Grimm), brought to you by Spanish theatrical troupe La Maquiné, is a stage production without words, an album of eye-catching images inspired by the well-known stories: Tom Thumb, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood and Sleeping Beauty. An experience that takes place through music, puppets and projections in a visually stunning show for all ages, The Forest of Grimm will take you through multiple landscapes and emotions.

August 8: Rustavi Ensemble

The Rustavi Ensemble is a Georgian folk music group created in 1968 by Anzor Erkomaishvili, a singer and folklorist from a distinguished musical lineage that goes back seven generations. Since its formation, Rustavi has successfully toured more than 50 countries around the world, stunning audiences of all backgrounds.

August 11: Gottlieb Wallisch

Wallisch was born to a Viennese family of musicians. At the age of six, he was admitted to the Vienna University for Music and Performing Arts. By sixteen, he became one of the youngest musicians in the world to win the prestigious piano competition, The Stravinsky Awards International, in the US. Having performed with renowned orchestras such as Wiener Philharmoniker, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, and BBC National Orchestra of Wales and in concert tours throughout the US, the UK, Japan, Hong Kong and many other countries and regions, Wallisch will enliven the stage here in Guangzhou this August.
