Wutong Mountain, in Shenzhen, has always attracted tourists during the summer months and most come back pleased and refreshed.

The same cannot be said for 22-year-old Mingyi Bi. On July 20, the Guangzhounese university student began climbing the mountain alone after a friend canceled.

Despite having never climbed a mountain before she decided to attempt the hike anyway and has since disappeared from the face of the earth. Missing college student.

At the time of departure, all she had on her were her clothes, a backpack filled with some cash, an umbrella and a small amount of water, according to SZ News.

Approximately seven hours after departure, the local police station received a phone call from Mingyi, who proclaimed that she had lost her way in the mountains. This was the last time anyone had contact with the girl.

Three hours later, one of Mingyi’s friends, Huang, became worried and attempted to call her several times. She never picked up.

At 10.30pm, Huang attempted to call Mingyi again, only to realize that Mingyi’s phone was turned off. Faced with this worrying turn of events, Huang quickly called the authorities and reported Mingyi as missing.

The Shenzhen authorities have been searching the mountain to no avail, and we can only hope that this young college girl is found unharmed.
